2009 seems like a lifetime ago. This was the last time the Pittsburgh Steelers played in the Super Bowl. Granted, it was a win over the Arizona Cardinals and one of the greatest games in NFL history. Nevertheless, it was a long time ago. After watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles square off on Sunday, it really makes us wonder how long it will be before the Steelers get back and win their seventh title.
The biggest thing working against the Steelers right now is the resurgence of elite quarterback play in the NFL. There are 32 teams in the league and about 12 of them have top-tier signal callers. This gives them a huge natural advantage in the current meta of the NFL. Pittsburgh needs to figure out if Kenny Pickett can be that type of player and if so, how do they get him there while the window to win with the current group of defensive veterans is open?
