Florida basketball returns home after a tough two-game road trip that saw the team drop both games as the Kentucky Wildcats and Alabama Crimson Tide handed the Gators their 10th and 11th losses of the season, respectively. Now Todd Golden’s gang turns their attention to the visiting Vanderbilt Commodores, who should give the Orange and Blue a chance to right the ship.
The Gators come into the game with a 13-11 record overall and a 6-5 mark in Southeastern Conference play, while sitting at No. 46 in the NET rankings, No. 37 in ESPN’s Basketball Power Index and No. 44 in the Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings. Vandy, on the other hand, arrives in Gainesville sporting a 12-12 record overall and a 5-6 mark in SEC competition, while ranked No. 99 in the NET, No. 97 in the BPI and No. 95 in KenPom.
The Gators hold a slight edge over the Commodores in the all-time series dating back to 1931, holding a 73-70 lead including the initial 42-25 loss in Gainesville to kick things off. Florida has the longest series winning streak at nine games (2019 to present) while Vandy’s best stretch lasted six games from 1981 to 1983.
