Hall of Fame Celtics guard Ray Allen on how he fell in love with the game of basketball

The 2008 Boston champ had plenty to say about his formative years with the sport.

Only fans of the Boston Celtics who are too young to remember that 2008 NBA champion Ray Allen‘s career in film may not be aware that he has game. But the former UConn standout also has a love for the game — and one that started early in his life, at that.

The South Carolina native shared how he fell in love with the game of basketball in an interview with Celtics title teammate James Posey on the latter’s “Posecast” pod. And as these stories often go, a girl was involved in Jesus Shuttlesworth becoming a hoops addict on his way to a Hall of Fame career.

The duo also chat about their time together with the Celtics, Allen’s time with the Huskies, his first shoe deal, and more.
