The 2022 season is in the rearview, and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle should be proud of the year that he had.
In just his second professional season, Waddle finished with 75 receptions for 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns while leading the league in yards per catch (18.1). That’s after he broke the NFL’s rookie record for receptions (104) and franchise rookie record for yards (1,015) in 2021.
With the season over Waddle gave fans a little bit of a behind-the-scenes look into a day off, as he partnered with Applebee’s and Whistle Sports for a “Cheat Day.”
Waddle talking about his motivation to be better is one of the most intriguing parts.
“I think I’m self-motivated,” Waddle said. “I’m not getting complacent. Always being hungry and always wanting to reach new heights. I’m pretty self-motivated. It’s just playing important games, and playing games that matter, playoffs, just leaving a legacy.”
The former first-round pick is certainly on his way to doing just that.
