Report: LSU 2024 target Ju’Juan Johnson has made a decision

The four-star athlete from Lafayette Christian Academy will make his decision known on Saturday.

One of LSU’s top in-state targets in the 2024 class is set to announce his commitment on Saturday as Lafayette Christian Academy athlete [autotag]Ju’Juan Johnson[/autotag] is set to choose between Florida, Colorado and the Tigers.

LSU has led the whole way for Johnson, who stands at 5-foot-11, primarily plays quarterback and ranks as the No. 4 prospect in the state of Louisiana (and in the top 250 nationally). The Tigers currently hold a hefty lead per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

According to a report from On3’s Sam Spiegelman (subscription required), Johnson came to a decision earlier this week.

Spiegelman reiterated that LSU is in a good spot, but the Gators and Buffaloes have made a late push. Florida defensive backs coach Corey Raymond, who previously coached at LSU, is from Lafayette. Meanwhile, Johnson took a trip last weekend to Boulder to visit with coach Deion Sanders, who reportedly made a strong impression.

Johnson was supposed to take a trip to Baton Rouge after that visit, which he ultimately didn’t do. However, Spiegelman said there has been an open line of communication between Johnson and LSU’s staff this week.

Colorado seems to be the biggest contender here, but LSU will hope to keep the talented in-state prospect in the boot.
