Florida OG O’Cyrus Torrence shining at Senior Bowl

Potential #Raiders draft target O’Cyrus Torrence shining at Senior Bowl

The coaching staff for the Las Vegas Raiders is in Mobile this week coaching up some of the nation’s top talent. They are getting an up-and-close look at some potential draft options, including several of the top offensive linemen in this year’s class.

One of the most impressive players of the week has been Florida offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence. In a recent practice recap, Jordan Reid of ESPN wrote about how impressive Torrence has been at the Senior Bowl. Here is what he had to say about the SEC guard:

“Florida interior offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence continued to look like a first-round player on Wednesday. He was my highest-ranked prospect coming into the week, and he has actually exceeded expectations. He showcased overwhelming power and the ability to anchor at the point of attack. Torrence projects as a mid-to-late Day 1 selection.”

While the Raiders wouldn’t consider trading Torrence with their No. 7 pick, it’s possible that he could be there at No. 38. And if the Raiders wanted to execute a small trade-up, that would be reasonable for the best guard in the class.

The Raiders are hopeful that Dylan Parham (left guard) will make a big leap in Year 2, but they’ve got to find a better solution at right guard next season. Adding a dominant player like Torrence could really improve the overall play of the offensive line.

Keep an eye on him throughout the rest of the week and during the game as he could certainly be an option for the Raiders in Round 2.
