Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes shared a sizzle reel of the AFC Championship Game win over the Cincinnati Bengals created by Billy Quach of Let It Fly Media.
He’s been creating some impressive edits for Mahomes practically all season, but this one felt extra spicy. The film clips were excellent, per usual, but the song choice in this one feels like it might have some extra meaning. They went with the 2009 hit “Forever” featuring Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Eminem. Drake’s verse begins with the following lyrics. . .
“Last name ever, first name greatest. Like a sprained ankle, boy I ain’t nothin’ to play with.”
Everyone was counting the Chiefs out in the AFC title game due to the high ankle sprain that Mahomes suffered in the AFC divisional round. Sure enough, he played on the injury that typically leads to a multi-week absence. In doing so, he managed to outplay his opponent, Bengals QB Joe Burrow, AND lead his team to Super Bowl LVII.
Those lyrics are perfectly catered for the all-time gutsy performance from Mahomes. It’s hard not to watch this video and get excited about what’s to come from this team in the Super Bowl, especially considering they’re underdogs heading into the game.
