The tee-toss seen round the world (I’m not calling this TeeGate, NOPE) on Wednesday has become quite a source of humor around the golf world.
I’m speaking, of course, about the beef between Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed. McIlroy threw a ton of shade at Reed on Wednesday, including mentioning that Reed’s lawyer subpoenaed McIlroy on Christmas Eve last year. And then video dropped to back up the report that Reed tried to say hello to McIlroy, who ignored him, and then Reed tossed a tee in the golfer’s general direction.
After the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa had perfect jokes about this whole thing:
Had a nice time on the course today. 5 birdies, 1 bogey, no subpoenas. Very successful start to the week!

Was so close to throwing a tee at you but you’re too nice
