Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn had a busy day on Friday, making final preparations for his defense to travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers in the NFC divisional round of the playoffs, but also sitting down for job interviews with both the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts.
But he’ll need to get his suit back from the dry cleaners in a hurry, because he’s not done with it yet.
The Arizona Cardinals, who just hired a new general manager last week, have also put in a request to speak with Quinn about their head coaching vacancy, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
Kliff Kingsbury had helmed the Cardinals for just four seasons.
The #Cardinals requested an interview with #Cowboys DC Dan Quinn for their head coaching job, per source.
No interview is scheduled with Arizona as of now. Quinn interviewed virtually Friday with the #Colts and in-person with the #Broncos, who have him high on their list.

The Cardinals were an 11-6 club and made the playoffs in 2021, but things fell apart for Kingsbury’s squad this past season. A host of injuries and erratic play on both sides of the ball led to a seven-game losing streak to end the season. Arizona won just one home game all year and finished last in their division with a 4-13 mark.
Kingsbury was relieved of his coaching duties the day after the regular season ended, and GM Steve Keim stepped down, with team owner Michael Bidwell saying it was “just time for a change.”
Citing an “incredible sense of urgency,” Bidwell also announced that he would prefer to have a new GM hired before a head coach was finalized. Monti Ossenfort was named the team’s new general manager on Jan. 16. He had been an executive in the Titans organization.
The Cardinals have already conducted interviews with the team’s current defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and former Colts head coach Frank Reich. Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is set to speak with the team on Saturday.
Arizona has also requested to meet with Broncos DC Ejiro Evero, former Saints coach Sean Payton, 49ers DC DeMeco Ryans, and Steelers defensive assistant Brian Flores.
No date for Quinn’s interview with the Cardinals has been scheduled as of yet.
The Cowboys are slated to play the Cardinals in Glendale during the 2023 season.
