The Oklahoma City Thunder are one step closer to adding a lottery talent.
The Thunder announced on Thursday that Ousmane Dieng had been assigned to the G League’s OKC Blue.
It is a step in the right direction for his return.
Dieng has missed the last month due to a non-displaced right wrist fracture he suffered on Dec. 14.
The original timetable given by the Thunder was Dieng would be re-evaluated in six weeks. That date is still roughly two weeks away, so it appears Dieng is healing in a timely manner.
Dieng was selected 11th overall in the 2022 NBA draft. In 14 games with the Thunder, the 19-year-old is averaging 4.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
