Titans hiring Ran Carthon as next GM draws positive reviews

Twitter gave the Titans two thumbs up for their hire of Ran Carthon as the next GM.

The Tennessee Titans have reportedly found their new general manager in San Francisco 49ers director of pro personnel, Ran Carthon, who beat out two other finalists for the job.

This is a great hire for Tennessee. Not only is Carthon well-respected around the NFL and a great personnel guy, he also comes from a great organization in the Niners’.

San Francisco has routinely been one of the better teams in the NFL over the past four seasons, making three trips to the playoffs, including two to the NFC Championship Game, one of which turned into a Super Bowl trip.

Carthon has also worked with some really impressive executives, like 49ers general manager John Lynch and assistant general manager Adam Peters, who was also in a target of the Titans for their GM position.

Making this hiring even better is the fact that Carthon comes from outside the Titans’ organization and the Mike Vrabel circle of trust. Hopefully Tennessee takes the same approach with its offensive coordinator hire.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news.
