The Baltimore Ravens are beloved by nearly every Charm City resident, and inside linebacker Patrick Queen isn’t taking his close relationship with his fans lightly. The third-year linebacker has many who embrace him throughout the city, and wants to make sure he gives back to those who support him and the team he plays for.
When speaking with the media, Queen was asked why he has made a habit of signing autographs for fans before and after nearly every Ravens game. He told reporters that his upbringing plays a major factor in his willingness to accommodate fans in many different settings.
“It’s the way I was raised,” Queen said. “You see kids there, and they’re obviously kids that look up to you and want to be like you. I don’t want to leave a bad taste in anybody’s mouth about me just walking past a kid and not signing an autograph. I know me as a kid – I wasn’t a big autograph person, but I know I had friends who loved autographs from people – just seeing how kids react to people setting a good example, and what it could do for them.”
With the playoffs just days away, Queen is sure to be focused on how he can help the Ravens get a win over the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend for their loyal supporters. It won’t be an easy task, but Queen and the rest of the Baltimore defense has been playing phenomenal football and will do what they can to pull out a victory.
