In his final 2022 press conference, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin updated everyone on the injury status of tight end Pat Freiermuth. Freiemuth went down with a knee injury at the end of Sunday’s 28-14 win over the Cleveland Browns and it looked bad.

But according to Tomlin, the injury was only an MCL sprain and will not require surgery. This is great news heading into the offseason. Had Freeiermuth torn his ACL, it would have radically changed his offseason and would have seriously limited him going into training camp.

Freiermuth caught 63 passes in 2022 for 732 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
