The Baltimore Ravens lost their final matchup of the regular season on Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals, suffering a 27-16 defeat at the hands of Joe Burrow and company. However, with the playoffs fast approaching, they won’t have much time to lick their wounds, as they’ll need to regroup quickly and get prepared to play in less than a week.
Veteran pass rusher Justin Houston spoke to reporters after the game and shared his assessment of the Ravens’ effort in the Week 18 matchup. Despite the loss, he said Baltimore put out a competitive showing against an elite opponent.
“I thought we played well,” Houston explained. “They are really talented. We are now headed into the playoffs, so this game is behind us and it really doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is the game next week. We’ll see what we can do next week.”
For his part, Houston seemed ready to move on and get his team in a position to compete for a Super Bowl title through the playoffs, which will start in earnest on Saturday. Baltimore will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in a Week 18 rematch on Sunday, and many hope that starting quarterback Lamar Jackson will be back to help lift the Ravens over the Bengals in the Wild Card round.
