Tyrese Maxey out for Sixers vs. Thunder, 2 other starters questionable

Tyrese Maxey is out for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Oklahoma City Thunder while two starters are listed as questionable.

The Philadelphia 76ers will finish their four-game road trip on New Year’s Eve by taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Following a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, the Sixers are looking to snap a two-game slide.

Tyrese Maxey will be out for Saturday’s contest with the Thunder since it is the second night of a back-to-back. He had nine points in 18 minutes off the bench on Friday in his first game back since Nov. 18 due to a left foot fracture.

Two other starters are listed as questionable. James Harden is questionable due to right foot tendon strain injury management. PJ Tucker is also questionable due to left knee injury management.

All of these injuries make sense. For Maxey, it doesn’t make sense to push him this much this early. Harden has averaged 39.1 minutes over 11 games since his return from his injury. As for Tucker, he is 37 and he has been dealing with a variety of injuries while playing in all 34 games. It would make sense for him to sit a game and get some rest.

Tipoff from the Paycom Center is set for 8 p.m. EST.
