PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia 76ers veteran PJ Tucker is one of the tough guys who sets the tone on a nightly basis. A veteran in his 12th NBA season, little fazes him at this point.
After not playing in the fourth quarter of Friday’s 119-114 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, during which the Sixers rallied from 20 points down, Tucker revealed he is not right physically at the moment.
“I got a pinched nerve that I’ve been battling,” Tucker said. “A dead hand. Pretty much the last few weeks so I’ve been battling. It’s just something I gotta keep dealing with.”
He said the pinched nerve is in his right hand. The injury could be the reason he hasn’t taken many shots and has been passing up shots. He also said he isn’t going to take nights off. He is going to be out there fighting for his team.
“I’m just on a day-to-day basis just working with trainers and a lot of physical therapy people and get better,” he added. “It is what it is.”
The Sixers begin a four-game trip on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks.
