The early signing period is underway, and the Oklahoma Sooners’ [autotag]2023 recruiting class[/autotag] is beginning to put pen to paper.
The highest-ranked football player in Missouri is coming to Norman. Adepoju Adebawore signed to become an Oklahoma Sooner. It’s a huge get for Miguel Chavis on the recruiting trail. Adebawore has been committed to OU since July 10.
Clocking in at 6 feet, 4 inches and 240 pounds, Adebawore has the makings of a freakish athlete. The five-star player is the No. 4 edge in the 247Sports composite. He is the first five-star defensive prospect signed by the Sooners since Caleb Kelly.
With Colton Vasek flipping to Texas, Adebawore became all the more valuable in this 2023 cycle. Brent Venables needed a big pass rusher in his first full recruiting cycle, and it would seem he got one.

The Sooners needed to beat a few SEC schools to get Adebawore’s name on the dotted line. In what is perhaps a prelude of things to come, Adebawore’s had offers from Northwestern, Missouri, Georgia and Arkansas.
