Four-star offensive lineman [autotag]Clay Wedin[/autotag] became the first signee of the [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] era when he sent in his national letter of intent Wednesday morning.
The Tampa, Florida native is ranked as the No. 28 interior offensive lineman and No. 412 overall player in the 247Sports Composite rating.
Wedin was originally committed to Michigan State before backing off his pledge and flipping to Auburn on Oct. 14, when interim head coach Cadillac Williams was still in charge of Auburn. Checking in at 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds he projects as a guard once he arrives on the Plains.
He is expected to enroll in January and will need time to build up his technique and strength before he sees the field for Auburn.
