Cardinals fall nearly to bottom of latest power rankings

After losing to the Broncos and Colt McCoy got hurt, the Cardinals dropped to No. 30 in new TD Wire power rankings.

The Arizona Cardinals have fallen nearly to rock bottom this season — rock bottom of league power rankings, at least.

The truth is that it would be hard to get worse than things currently are.

After the Cardinals’ 24-15 loss to the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon, they fell five spots in Mark Lane’s new power rankings for Touchdown Wire.

After previously ranking 25th, they have fallen all the way to No. 30.

When you’re down to your third-string quarterback, it isn’t pretty — unless you’re the San Francisco 49ers. Nevertheless, the Cardinals have never clicked on all cylinders in 2022. The last three games might be Kliff Kingsbury swan song.

Kyler Murray tore his ACL two games ago and is done for the year. Colt McCoy suffered a concussion on Sunday, putting in question his availability this week when the Cardinals host Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Christmas night. If he can’t play, it will be Trace McSorley who will get the start.

No one other than McSorley, his friends and his family really want to see that.

The Cardinals now hold the No. 5 pick in the draft. It will be hard to see things get worse in the final three games.
