Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero on Monday was among those nominated to be the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week, the NBA announced.
Banchero averaged 23.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals on 55% shooting from 3-point range as the Magic posted a 3-0 record during the week. He was 18th in scoring among all players in the conference and eighth in 3-pointers (11).
It was his fourth time this season being nominated for the award.
The No. 1 pick has scored at least 20 points in seven straight games and is coming off a team-high 31-point performance in a win over the Boston Celtics on Sunday. It was his third 30-point game, the most by a rookie this season.
Donovan Mitchell won the award after averaging 32 points in four games.

Banchero is averaging 22 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 24 games this season. He leads all first-year players in scoring and is first in 20-point games (19) and 30-point games. He is also tied for first in double-doubles (5) and is second in assists and third in rebounding.
