Anthony Davis expected to be out at least one month with foot injury

The Lakers will be without arguably the best big man in the NBA for several weeks.

Just when Anthony Davis was playing arguably the best sustained basketball of his career, the injury bug hit again.

He suffered a foot injury in Friday’s win over the Denver Nuggets when his right foot became entangled with Nikola Jokic’s leg in mid-air. He continued to play in the first half, but he was ruled out for the second half.

Davis is expected to miss at least a month.

This is a huge blow to a Lakers team that had been playing better since starting 2-10. They’ve won 10 of their last 16 games and are playing much better offensively than in October and early November.

This injury will be a huge test of the Lakers’ depth and willpower. Davis had been arguably the best player in the NBA over the past month or so.
