In his sixth NFL season, most who follow the game closely will probably be familiar with Austin Ekeler’s multifaceted game.
As a runner and receiver, the Los Angeles Chargers running back is often the engine that helps drive the L.A. offense. Since 2018, the 27-year-old has garnered at least 900 all-purpose yards every year as the ultimate security blanket. The statistic that might vouch for his unique skill set the best is that Ekeler has exactly 29 rushing touchdowns and 29 receiving touchdowns over the course of his six-year career.
The 2022 campaign might be the 5-foot-10, 200-pound dynamo’s finest yet, as Ekeler is the perfect running (and receiving) mate for Justin Herbert. And as 2022 Pro Bowl voting is already well underway, the Chargers’ social media team decided to have a little fun with the candidacy of their star multi-purpose player.
They made a video endorsing Ekeler’s Pro Bowl candidacy that presents his hopes for a selection as a conspiracy theory “Big NFL” doesn’t want us to know about. And yes, it’s as hilarious as it sounds:
Big NFL doesn't want you to see this.

I mean, that is a masterclass in a promotion. From asking whether Ekeler scores too many touchdowns to “keeping us in the dark” about his talents. Just incredible. No further notes.
With the Chargers trying to solidify a spot in January’s postseason, they’ll likely continue leaning on Ekeler in every which way. A date with the Tennessee Titans this Sunday should see the tailback gash Mike Vrabel’s defense on the ground and through the air, as he usually does.
I have a feeling that “Big NFL” won’t be able to keep Ekeler under wraps for much longer.
