Chiefs S Justin Reid ‘excited’ for Texans reunion in Week 15

Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid is looking forward to playing against the Houston Texans, the team that gave him his start in the NFL.

Week 13 saw the Houston Texans welcome back their former franchise quarterback, who was making his debut with the Cleveland Browns. Fans showered him with boos inside NRG Stadium.

The Texans have another reunion upcoming as the Kansas City Chiefs visit for Week 15. Former safety Justin Reid will be suiting up for the 10-3 squad that just needs a win to clinch a playoff spot.

Reid, a former 2018 third-round pick from Stanford, is looking forward to his return to NRG Stadium.

“I’m excited,” Reid said via Charles Goldman from the Chiefs Wire. “A lot of love for the players and coaching staff. So, it’s a fun game for me personally to be in the atmosphere I began my career in.”

Reid was well thought of during his time with the Texans, earning the Ed Block Courage Award in 2019, an award voted on by his teammates.

The 25-year-old was also onboard with the promotion of Lovie Smith from defensive coordinator to coach in February.

Reid has 60 combined tackles, two quarterback hits, and two pass breakups in his 13 games with the Chiefs, all of them he has started.
