The NBA is beginning to rebrand their end of season awards in order to honor the greatest players to play the game. They want to pay homage to those like Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Jerry West, and others as part of a multi-year project to reimagine many of the NBA’s most important awards.
Philadelphia 76ers legend Wilt Chamberlain will get some recognition in these awards as well as the Rookie of the Year award will be named after him. Chamberlain spent four seasons with the Sixers and he averaged 27.6 points, 23.9 rebounds, and 6.8 assists while guiding Philadelphia to a title in 1967.
The NBA is redesigning and renaming many of its individual awards.

Chamberlain won four MVP awards during his career, he was a 13-time All-Star, and he won finals MVP in 1972 while with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also is the only player to ever score 100 points in a game as he was just a man amongst boys out on the floor. If there is anybody who deserves this honor, it’s him.
