Texans RB Dameon Pierce leaves 27-23 loss to the Cowboys in a walking boot

Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce left AT&T Stadium in a walking boot following the 27-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14.

The Houston Texans may be in store for more bad news following their 27-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys Sunday afternoon in Week 14 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

According to Brian Barefield from the Texans Wire, Pierce left the stadium in a walking boot.

Pierce injured his ankle early in the fourth quarter, and the official word from the Texans was that he was questionable to return with an ankle injury. The rookie indeed returned with a 2-yard carry on third-and-1 from the Houston 34-yard line with 10:50 to go in the game.

The fourth-rounder from Florida never saw another touch. Houston went with a handoff to Rex Burkhead and running plays from quarterback Jeff Driskel in a goal-to-go situation from the 4-yard line on Houston’s second to last drive of the game. Coach Lovie Smith said if Pierce were healthy enough to go, he would have been a part of their plans during that sequence.
