The Philadelphia 76ers are on the verge of getting healthier while out on the floor. They welcomed Joel Embiid back on Nov. 28 after he missed four games with a foot injury and then they welcomed James Harden back on Wednesday after he missed 14 games due to a right foot tendon strain.
Now, the Sixers could be getting Tyrese Maxey soon before the Christmas holiday. The young man has been out since Nov. 19 due to a left foot fracture and coach Doc Rivers mentioned that he is still a ways away, but ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski gave an update that the young man is set to return before Dec. 25 which would line up with the original 3-to-4 week timeline for his recovery.
Wojnarowski on Maxey:
I’m told that he is still on target for that one month timeline from that November 19 injury, the fracture of that left foot. So that takes you to about two weeks from now and now there’s a stretch there where the Sixers have Toronto, Detroit, the Clippers in that window, but the expectation is he’s on course to be back for Christmas and then you finally get this Sixers team back whole.

Whenever the Sixers do get Maxey back, it will almost be like a fresh start for them. They are sitting at 12-12 on the season and this isn’t the way most saw the season going for Philadelphia. With a 7-game homestand coming up, it offers an opportunity to get back on track.
“I look at us as a team that has had a lot of injuries try and keep it together,” said Rivers at practice on Wednesday. “We still don’t have everybody back. Georges (Niang) is out, Tyrese is out…it is nice to have this week going through a lot of games.”
