One of the most bizarre plays in SEC Championship Game history happened in on Saturday between Georgia and LSU.
In the first quarter of the game, LSU was looking to draw first blood with a field goal, but Georgia had other plans. The Bulldogs blocked LSU’s field goal attempt, and in a crazy turn of events, the ball laid on the ground and no one really knew what to do with it.
That is, until Georgia picked the blocked field goal up and ran it back for a touchdown to put the Dawgs up 7-0. The rout was on from there. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] took the blame for the mishap.
“Obviously we did a poor job coaching, it’s our responsibility to have our guys alert in that situation. They were not alert and that falls on coaching, and that that falls on my shoulders and I take full responsibility for that,”
LSU is preparing for the Citrus Bowl against Purdue to cap off his first season on the Bayou. The Tigers will hope to avoid any miscues like that moving forward.
