Pete Carroll provides Seahawks injury updates heading into Week 14

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was able to provide a number of player injury updates heading into Week 14 of the 2022 regular season.

The Seattle Seahawks have a few players battling injuries and coach Pete Carroll was able to provide some updates heading into Week 14.

Safety Ryan Neal, who suffered elbow and shoulder injuries last week, left Sunday’s game with a knee issue. “He got banged, so he was hobbling for a little bit,” Carroll told reporters. “He played with it for a while… His knee is still sore, I talked to him today about it. We’re going to have to wait and see what happens, but he feels like he’ll be able to get back.”

Running back Kenneth Walker III left the Rams matchup with what turned out to be an ankle injury. “I don’t have much more detail about it,” Carroll said. “He’s got an area of ankle that’s sore that he jammed. There’s some strained tissue in there, but it’s not an ankle sprain. It’s not a high ankle sprain, it’s not a lateral ankle sprain like we normally report on. It’s different than that.”

Finally, there is some guarded optimism that running back Rashaad Penny truly does have a chance to return from the injured reserve this season after all. “Well you’ve got to love his optimism,” Carroll stated. “He hasn’t run yet. Who knows what’s going to happen. He’s still a ways from getting back, but I love that he feels really good about the process that he’s in right now. That’s a good sign.”‘
