Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid provided an injury update following the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. It was a brief update with only a single player to speak of, but it was about the most important player on the football team.
According to Reid, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a foot injury late in the game. It doesn’t sound like the injury will be an issue, though.
“Alright, as far as the injuries go, Pat (Mahomes) hurt his foot there at the end,” Reid said. “But it looks like he’s going to be OK.”
Obviously, a foot injury is the last thing you want to hear about with Mahomes. He suffered from a turf toe injury late in the 2020 NFL season, which impacted him in Super Bowl LV and required off-season surgery.
There was plenty of indication that this particular foot injury shouldn’t be an issue. For instance, Mahomes spoke to reporters after the game. The Chiefs wouldn’t allow him to speak with reporters if he were dealing with a significant injury. He was asked about the foot and told reporters, “Yes, I’ll be fine.”
Still, this is something that fans will want to monitor when the first injury report comes out ahead of the Week 14 game against the Broncos.
