The bounce was not with LSU during a wild helmet-doink interception that went in Georgia’s favor.
Driving down 14-7 to the Bulldogs at the top of the SEC championship game second quarter, Tigers quarterback Jaydon Daniels threw a pass to wideout Jack Bech into traffic.
Dawgs defensive back Christopher Smith broke up the pass, and both players went to the ground. The ball, however, wasn’t finished with the play. It doinked right off of Bech’s helmet, deflected off defensive back Javon Bullard and landed in the hands of linebacker Smael Mondon for the pick.
There was nothing Daniels could’ve done to stop this bizarre bounce. Not even Georgia’s vaunted defense was talented enough to make this interception happen without the laws of gravity.

Take another look at the way the ball just pinballed right off of Bech’s helmet and into Smith’s hands.

The Tigers had already surrendered a blocked field goal that went for a touchdown earlier in the game.
LSU couldn’t afford to make mistakes against a team as talented as Georgia, but being unlucky was just adding insult to injury.
