Penn State entered the 2022 season without a ranking in the polls and without an offensive identity. They end the 2022 season with a number eight ranking by the College Football Playoff selection committee and a run game led by two freshmen running backs who went on a historic campaign.
[autotag]Nick Singleton[/autotag] and [autotag]Kaytron Allen[/autotag] both rushed for over 700 yards and became the second set of freshmen teammates to do so since the year 2000. Singleton would rush for 941 yards with Allen hot on his tail with 830 yards. Both would be who [autotag]James Franklin[/autotag] and the Nittany Lions would lean on when they wanted to control the pace of the game.
