The Los Angeles Rams released Justin Hollins last week, which left their outside linebacker group thin; only Leonard Floyd and Terrell Lewis remained as designated outside linebackers.
It’s going to help that rookie Daniel Hardy is on his way back from injury. On Wednesday, the Rams announced that Hardy has been designated to return from injured reserve and is back at practice. Hardy has been out all year with a high ankle sprain, which he suffered in Week 2 of the preseason.
The Rams now have 21 days to evaluate Hardy in practice and activate him off IR. If they don’t activate him within that window, he’ll remain on injured reserve all season.
In addition to designating Hardy to return, the Rams signed wide receiver Jaquarii Roberson to the practice squad. Los Angeles has lost Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson to injuries, so Roberson provides some depth at that spot.
