Blake Griffin had a poster-worthy alley-oop dunk and the Celtics bench absolutely lost its mind

OMG THAT’S BLAKE GRIFFIN’S MUSIC.

Blake Griffin used to be one of the most prolific dunkers in the NBA, but his highlights are more of a rarity these days.

Griffin, who signed with the Celtics during the offseason and decided to wear No. 91 as a tribute to Dennis Rodman, is averaging a career-low in points per game (3.4 ppg) and minutes per game (11.1 mpg) so far this season.

Griffin led the NBA with 202 dunks in 2012-13 and no one in the league had more dunks than he did (784) between 2010 and 2014. But before tonight, he had recorded 36 dunks since the 2019-20 campaign.

That is why it was good to see that Griffin, a six-time All-Star who won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2011, still has the vertical pop to give fans a highlight every once in a while.

He showed as much with this alley-oop against the Hornets on Monday:

This was Griffin’s first dunk since March 21, 2022 — and it was a fun one.

He powered down a one-handed alley-oop and his teammates were thrilled.

Griffin made each of his first four attempts from the field, including a 3-pointer, as the Celtics blew out the Hornets.

His scoring total in the game was a season-high for the 33-year-old big.
