For the first time in the 2022-23 season, the UNC basketball program will face adversity. Fresh off a loss to Iowa State on Friday, the Tar Heels once again held a lead in the second half or overtime and couldn’t put the game away.
Sunday’s four-overtime loss to Alabama drops UNC to 5-2 on the year ahead of what will be a tough next few weeks with games against Indiana and Virginia Tech on the road this coming week. It was a frustrating loss for the Tar Heels as they really haven’t shown the ability to close out games against good opponents just yet.
But is it time to panic?
Head coach Hubert Davis met the media on Sunday after the game to discuss where his team is at, injuries, how they played and more. Davis remained positive despite a tough showing from his team in which they could have put the game away a few different times.
UNC will have to rebound and get back on track soon but as I mentioned above, it won’t be easy. Here is what Davis said following the game on Sunday.
