Tony’s Take: Colorado vs. Utah score prediction

What are your predictions for the final game of 2022?

The Colorado Buffaloes close their season out on Saturday at Folsom Field against the Utah Utes.

The last home game of the season is always fun with it being senior day but although the festivities will be enjoyable for players and fans alike, the actual game isn’t expected to be better than anything we’ve seen this season.

Utah enters as a big favorite and the Utes still have a chance to play in the Pac-12 title game if everything falls in line for them. A crucial step for that to happen is beating the Buffs. Colorado’s issues have been well-documented this season and Utah has the weapons to take advantage. The Utes feature a rough-and-tumble offense that runs opponents into the ground while quarterback Cam Rising can beat you with either his legs or arm. Even without leading rusher Tavion Thomas, Colorado just doesn’t have the punch to slow down that running game.

My prediction: Utah will beat Colorado 49-17, bringing the Buffs to 1-11 for the first time since 2012.
