ANN ARBOR, Mich. — It didn’t look like the game was going to end up this way, but Michigan football remains undefeated as it heads into The Game this next week.
Illinois gave the Wolverines all they could handle on Saturday, with the maize and blue ultimately winning, 19-17, in dramatic, comeback fashion.
But there was other drama. Michigan was significantly depleted, particularly on offense. Donovan Edwards and Trevor Keegan were held out. Luke Schoonmaker was dressed but limited. Then, Blake Corum went out with an injury near the end of the first half, and the Wolverine offense sputtered.
After the game, Jim Harbaugh was about as ecstatic as one could be after a win, given the way that Michigan won it. Here is everything he had to say in his postgame press conference.
