The week is halfway over ahead of Florida football’s matchup with the Vanderbilt Volunteers in Nashville, Tennessee. The matchup features a pair of schools that were the founders of the illustrious Southeastern Conference back in 1933, with a long history against each other on the gridiron.
The Gators clinched a bowl game berth with their resounding victory over South Carolina last Saturday in their final home game of the season. Vandy also scored big with an upset win over the Kentucky Wildcats on the road. Both teams are riding high coming into the Week 12 battle.
Florida has dominated the all-time series with a 43-10-2 record dating back to 1945. Interestingly, Vanderbilt won the first three games and held the series lead until 1962, when the Gators took the lead for good at seven games to six. The Commodores’ last win came back in 2013 when they snapped a 22-game losing streak in the Swamp, spoiling Florida’s homecoming game.
