Following huge upset, Colorado hoops receives AP Poll votes

Both Colorado and Grambling State ended the week receiving AP Poll votes. Tennessee, meanwhile, fell 11 spots.

Question: Would you rather have had Colorado beat Grambling State and lose to No. 11 Tennessee (as was expected) or stick with what actually happened?

Well, if you saw Monday’s AP Men’s College Basketball Poll, it seems voters put more weight on the Buffs’ big upset than their disappointing loss. After not receiving any love in the preseason poll, Colorado was given 11 votes following its 2-1 start. If that 2-1 record included a loss to Tennessee instead, the Buffs probably would’ve been left off the poll entirely.

Elsewhere in the Pac-12, UCLA was No. 9, Arizona sat No. 14, Oregon received 36 votes and Arizona State had nine.

It’s also worth noting that Grambling State was given four votes — in likely appreciation of beating Colorado — and the Vols fell 11 spots to No. 22.
