The Tigers have started off the year undefeated, but it doesn’t seem like that is swaying poll voters just yet.
The Tigers began the year at No. 15 in the USA TODAY coaches poll, and the new poll released on Monday has the team staying taut at that number. Auburn is one of 11 teams in the poll to not move and is the only team from No. 11 down to stay put in the poll.
Auburn has thus far defeated George Mason and USF to start the year, which perhaps why some voters are hesitant to put them higher. The Tigers aren’t set to play a Power 5 opponent until Dec. 18 against USC, so it could take a while to see just how good Auburn is. No teams with a loss are currently ranked above the Tigers.
Auburn’s next game to prove itself will be against Winthrop on Tuesday on its home court.
