The Washington Commanders [4-5] face the Philadelphia Eagles [8-0] on Monday Night Football from Philly. This is a rematch from Week 3 when the Eagles hammered the Commanders, 24-8, as Philadelphia sacked Washington quarterback Carson Wentz nine times and hit him 17 times.
What’s different this time around?
Taylor Heinicke will make his fourth consecutive start at quarterback for the Commanders, replacing Wentz, who fractured a finger on his throwing hand. Wentz is nearing a return and is eligible to come off the reserve/injured list next week. Heinicke started against the Eagles in Week 17 last season, completing 27 of 36 passes for 247 yards in a 20-16 Philadelphia win. Heinicke had Washington in the lead going into the fourth quarter, but a pair of field goals proved to be the difference in the game.
