The Lions are looking to snap ‘brutal’ 13-game road losing streak

Lions looking to snap what head coach Dan Campbell called a “brutal” 13-game road losing streak

Not-so-fun fact: Dan Campbell has yet to win a road game as the head coach of the Detroit Lions. Now midway through his second season, Campbell’s Lions have yet to come up victorious on the road.

Campbell knew it was a long streak, but being presented with the reality of 13 straight losses on the road hit him hard when the head coach was asked about that figure before Friday’s practice.

“Boy that’s brutal, when you just said that I haven’t thought of it like that. That’s rough,” Campbell said before veering into the consistency of preparation and execution.

Those will be key for the Lions to snap the 13-game road losing streak for the franchise. It’s a dubious run that dates back to December 6th, 2020 in Chicago. That’s when the Lions, led by interim head coach Darrell Bevell, knocked off the Bears 34-30 in the first game played after head coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn were fired.

Could a return to Soldier Field in what looks to be wintry conditions be the trick for snapping the streak? We’ll learn that on Sunday in Chicago.
