Titans’ Treylon Burks expected to return from IR when eligible

The Titans may get Treylon Burks back after this week.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks was placed on injured reserve prior to the Week 5 game because of turf toe, meaning he would miss the next four games at least.

In that time, Tennessee’s passing attack has struggled even more than it was when Burks was healthy. Granted, the rookie wasn’t doing much when he was on the field, but his absence did further limit the passing attack, as defenses didn’t have as much to respect.

The good news is, Burks might return as soon as he’s eligible, which will be prior to the Week 10 game against the Denver Broncos. This, according to Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt, who said so in his recent mailbag.

The receiver the Titans are looking [to] give them a boost in the second half of the season is Treylon Burks, the team’s first-round draft pick. He’s eligible to come back on November 13 against the Broncos and I’m expecting that to happen.

Before succumbing to injury, Burks tallied 10 receptions for 129 scoreless yards. We’ve seen flashes from the rookie, but it’s safe to say his overall production has been a disappointment, which certainly isn’t all his fault thanks to the overall ineptitude of Tennessee’s passing attack.

Whether fair or not, there will be a lot on Burks’ shoulders upon his return as the Titans look for anything to give their ailing passing attack a boost for the second half of the 2022 campaign.
