Pair on upgrades on Packers’ Thursday injury report

OL Elgton Jenkins and WR Christian Watson returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday. Here’s the updated Thursday injury report in Week 9.

The Green Bay Packers upgraded two players on Thursday’s injury report, the second of three ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the Detroit Lions.

Both offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and rookie receiver Christian Watson went from “did not participate” on Wednesday to “limited participation” on Thursday.

Jenkins is attempting to come back from a foot injury suffered in practice last week; Watson is in the league’s concussion protocol. Both improved their chances of playing Sunday at Ford Field.

The only other change to the Packers’ injury report on Thursday was a veteran’s rest day for tight end Marcedes Lewis.

Other notes:

– Left tackle David Bakhtiari, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles missed practice for the second consecutive day. It’s unclear what the missed days mean for Bakhtiari. Campbell and Jean-Charles look increasingly less likely to play Sunday.

– Receiver Allen Lazard practiced in a limited capacity for the second straight day. He’s still dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in Week 7 against Washington.

– Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (thumb) and outside linebacker Preston Smith (neck/shoulder) also practiced again. Neither looks in real danger of missing Sunday.
