From the “Can’t Blame a Guy for Trying” file comes rapper Bow Wow shooting his shot at AEW star Jade Cargill on social media.
It started Halloween night when Bow Wow, who had been going back and forth with Swerve Strickland on Twitter and teasing a jump to wrestling, fantasized about how he’d like to celebrate his first victory as a pro wrestler.
After my first win i just wanna take you out somewhere…. @Jade_Cargill

Cargill’s QT reply was perfectly in character for anyone who’s seen her work in AEW.
You can’t afford me Bow. Thanks but no thanks. https://t.co/IcnLvvyl0I

That turned into a discussion about whether Cargill was serious (she did say at least part of the exchange was in jest), and who made more money.
My man makes your bank look like LIL Bow Wow baby. Don’t come for me. We have play dates with your money. https://t.co/U00m2pvmIl

And Cargill eventually admitted she was a fan of Bow Wow’s music in her younger days.
It’s all love though. I brought your tape when I was like 7. Like everyone did. 💪🏾 https://t.co/U00m2pvmIl

So this story has a bit of a happy ending after all, with Bow Wow able to bow out (no pun intended) somewhat gracefully.
U got me outta mine when i shot my shot. I dont do that 🤣🤣🤣 but ima respect the curve. I know u locked down so…. (Hurts my heart 💔) https://t.co/jscLETzm3y

Bow Wow’s “locked down” comment refers to Cargill being in a committed relationship with the father of her daughter Bailey Quinn, former MLB baseball player Brandon Phillips.
The 35-year-old Bow Wow has had quite the career, releasing his first album as Lil’ Bow Wow when he was just 13 after being discovered by Snoop Dogg. As his music career petered out in the late 2000s, he made a successful transition to acting, appearing in a number of TV series and movies.
After Bow Wow announced on social media in early 2021 that he dreamed of eventually making it to WWE, Rikishi spoke about potentially training him for pro wrestling. It’s not clear if that ever happened or if he’s close to being able to actually perform in a wrestling ring, but he has had Twitter exchanges with various wrestlers ever since.
All of which is to say that while Bow Wow vs. Swerve is a maybe, Bow Wow going out with Cargill afterward sounds like definitely not. He gets an ‘A’ for effort, though, for sure.
