Go through NBA history and pick out your favorite crossovers and dribble moves. There is almost bound to be an uncalled discontinued dribble — or “carrying” — violation somewhere in there.
That’s just how it goes, man. Allen Iverson used to do it. Kyrie Irving still does it. The rest of the league does it, too.
That’s why it felt like we were in an episode of the twilight zone when officials called Jordan Poole for carrying not once, not twice, but 3 times (!!!!!) in one single game against the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
That’s just something that doesn’t happen. And the thing about it is it isn’t really wrong — he certainly carried. But, as his teammates and coaches have said, it’s something that happens literally all the time.
But, hey, man. Rules are rules, I guess? Poole certainly didn’t appreciate it. His reaction to these calls was incredible.
Just take a look at this face.

Y’all.
This is so petty and I love it. It’s the face you make when you’re mocking someone you’re in the middle of an argument with. You know the face.
Is it childish? Yes. Absolutely. But is it perfect in every single way? Also, yes. Absolutely.
This is hands down going to be one of the best memes of the year. The people love it.
