Jim Harbaugh during Monday’s press conference: What happened was ‘egregious’ and ‘sickening to watch’

He’s right on.

Jim Harbaugh got his first win on Saturday night against Mel Tucker, but things got quite somber after a huge win. Moments after the Wolverines defeated Michigan State, two Michigan players were assaulted by Spartans players in the Michigan tunnel. Those two players that were attacked were Ja’Den McBurrows and Gemon Green. We have learned that Green and his family will hire an attorney to press charges.

It was released on Sunday night that the Michigan State athletic department suspended four players that were involved indefinitely. Those players cannot attend any team functions like meetings, practice, or games.

While Mel Tucker didn’t want to say too much about what happened on Saturday since this is an ongoing investigation, he did say that he was “deeply sorry” for what happened, Jim Harbaugh had a lengthy statement ready for his Monday afternoon press conference.

Harbaugh called what happened in the tunnel “egregious” and that it was “sickening to watch”.

” Right now we have an ongoing police investigation,” said Harbaugh. “What happened in the tunnel was egregious. It’s sickening to watch the videos. The ones that are on social media right now and also the ABC tunnel cam — it’s in a higher elevation, it shows much more of what took place.”

The Michigan headman wants accountability for what happened. He can’t imagine a scenario where there are not criminal charges filed. Harbaugh said that the videos are very transparent of what actually happened.

“There needs to be accountability,” said Harbaugh. “There needs to be a full, thorough, timely investigation. I can’t imagine that this will not result in criminal charges. The videos are bad and it’s clear what transpired. It seems very, very open and shut. You know, as they say, watch the tape.”

Harbaugh said that no apology will get the job done in this instance. Like most people, he believes that there shouldn’t be some serious consequences presented to the people involved in the attacks.

“An apology will not get the job done in this instance,” Harbaugh said on Monday. “There should be serious consequences for the many individuals that are culpable.”
