The longest-tenured Cleveland Browns player (well, tied for the longest with guard Joel Bitonio) Charley Hughlett is not going anywhere anytime soon. The Browns have given their long snapper a new contract, extending him for an additional four years according to his agent Brett Tessler.
According to Tessler, the Browns have handed Hughlett the largest signing bonus, the most guaranteed money, and the largest contract in overall value that a long snapper has ever received. Drafting Cade York in the fourth round and signing Corey Bojorquez to a two-year deal, the Browns will have continuity in the special teams room heading into 2023. Well, except for maybe a new coordinator.
If it isn’t broken don’t fix it.
The Cleveland Browns just signed my client Charley Hughlett to a 4-year extension. Largest signing bonus, guarantee, and overall value in league history for a long snapper.
