Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase could miss the next four to six weeks with a hip injury.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Chase will seek out second opinions after visiting a hip specialist on Wednesday. The timeline could mean the Bengals opt to put him on injured reserve.

Earlier Thursday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had merely mentioned Chase was feeling soreness in the hip that had made him go limited in practice the week prior. Chase still played last week, scoring two touchdowns in a win over the Falcons.

Chase initially suffered the injury during a win over the Saints on October 16 and then aggravated it against the Falcons.

A trip to injured reserve would mean Chase is out four weeks at a minimum, though the Bengals can take solace in the fact he’s avoiding surgery for the injury and it isn’t viewed as a season-ender.
