Say this about Jon Moxley: He’s the very definition of a fighting champion. Mox could easily have taken this week off since he had a tough AEW World Championship defense last Wednesday on Dynamite against Hangman Adam Page. But when that bout got stopped early due to an injury to Hangman, he went and called out MJF.
They’ll do battle at Full Gear, but Moxley isn’t resting this week in Norfolk either. Instead, he’ll defend his championship yet again against Penta El Zero M. No one will really think Penta has a chance to win, but he’s certainly no pushover.
There’s also a high stakes battle in the tag team division in store for this week’s Dynamite. FTR really want the AEW World Tag Team Championship to add to their almost unprecedented collection. Former champs Swerve In Our Glory begged to differ, so they’ll settle it the way all pro wrestling disagreements should be settled: in the ring.
The ongoing enmity between the Blackpool Combat Club and the Jericho Appreciation Society will play out in a pair of matches. Bryan Danielson will take on Sammy Guevara in one of them, while Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta tag to face Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia in the other. A few weeks ago, the BCC looked much more harmonious than the JAS, but that’s changed over the past week and is something to keep in mind during this episode.
Last nut certainly not least, Riho returned last week to give a shot in the arm to the women’s division, but she’ll face a stern test in the form of the increasingly popular Jamie Hayter. Which wrestler’s side will the fans be on in Norfolk?
As is often the case, the card seems plenty good this week. If you can’t tune in live on TBS, please bookmark this page and refresh it throughout the evening, as we’ll be adding the latest AEW Dynamite results as they happen.
