On October 25, Nebraska Cornhuskers interim head coach Mickey Joseph confirmed that linebacker Nick Henrich will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Henrich suffered the injury against Purdue. Henrich is a team captain. This season, he had 37 total tackles and three tackles for loss in five games. Losing Henrich is a crushing blow to Nebraska’s struggling defense. The Cornhuskers are allowing 471.7 yards per game, which is the eighth-most in the FBS.
The injuries are piling up for Nebraska. In addition to Henrich, the Cornhuskers have lost running back Ajay Allen, offensive tackle Teddy Prochazka, and tight end Thomas Fidone to season-ending injuries.
